A legacy of care for the disabled

The disabled dependants of deceased veterans are especially cared for by Legacy. While most services are provided by outside organisations, Legacy maintains close contact with these young and adult dependants throughout their lives, adding our assistance and advice wherever possible.

The bonds that develop between these dependants and Legacy are strong and enduring. Constant contact with their Legacy volunteers during a range of activities adds that special element to all our lives, and is designed to give these wonderful people happy memories, good times and great friends.

· Fun times

Joyce and Freddie

Before I needed them, I had heard about “Legacy People” but never in my dreams did I realize what a very wonderful lot of people they are.

I first had contact with my Legacy when my husband Fred passed away 10 years ago. Our son, Freddy, has cerebral Palsy. He is now 61, and Legacy has looked after him for most of his life. They gave him a scooter so that he can go out and he just loves it. Legacy even takes him on outings and visits, and he always looks forward to that.

Now that we are getting older we both have a few health problems, but I know if I ever needed help Legacy is right there for us. I really don’t know what I would do without them.
