A legacy of care for children

Legacy’s care includes guidance and assistance in meeting the educational, recreational and personal development needs of the growing number of children. Assistance with schooling, providing a number of professional services, and offering cultural and recreational opportunities all aim to help children reach their full potential, despite their loss.

Legacy is committed to providing strong support to the children of deceased veterans, assisting them to become balanced, resilient and happy young adults.

Legacy youth camps offer kids an opportunity to learn and have fun, while interacting with other children who come from a similar situation to their own.

The best thing about Legacy is making new friends. I love going on camp and being away from Mum for a while, well a little while.

They provide activities, you can meet other people who have gone through the same as you and can talk about it because they feel the same as you. Because they’ve gone through the same as me, other Legacy kids don’t tease me or make me feel different like kids at school do. I feel really comfortable being around them because they understand. The camp leaders are really nice and once you get to know them you can talk to them if you have a problem.
